Below is a video of the children responding to a Powelliphanta snail eating a worm, they learned that Powelliphanta snails are carnivores and they particularly love earthworms and suck them up through their mouths just like we eat spaghetti!

Enviroschool - Minibeasts
Rūma Kererū have begun term 2 looking into our environment. We have been setting traps (friendly ones) and looking at all the insects and bugs that we have found. Kererū tamariki have been engaged and excited with finding the minibeasts, so excited that we decided to make one of our own. Tamariki researched the minibeasts and decided what they would like to make. They then used recyclable/reusable materials to begin making their minibeasts. Keep an eye for more wonderful work from Rūma Kererū.
